The idea for this blog hit me about 6 months ago on a random day when a stranger on the street was asking for spare change. His sign read: Every coin counts. As I sat in my car waiting my turn to get on the highway, I really gave that some thought. Every coin counts. Little things add up to bigger things. Small steps can still get you to the finish line.
Right about then, the world started crumbling. And everywhere I turned, more people, even some close to my family, needed help in some way. And I certainly wanted to step up to help them. But sometimes when the need is so great, it's overwhelming and you don't know where to start or what's most important. And with two young kiddos at home, it's easy to feel overwhelmed.
But things continue to get worse, and we hear of more stories each day of those in real need of help. It's time to do something - ok, it's past time. (I have a hard time with being timely sometimes - did I mention we have two young kiddos at home?) Even if it's a small step or change - it's time. We recognize that we can't do it alone which is why I've started this blog. We want to see a lot of people doing small things that add up to really big help!
I'll do my best to seek out and share new ideas that we can all act on today to help someone out. I'd love for you to share your ideas too! The more the better. Together we can help brighten someone's day, feed a family, save a tree (we're Oregonians - we love trees!), or who knows.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you'll visit often.
